Over 60,000 People Are Loving This Woman’s Poignant Message About ‘Perfect’ Bodies

With so much pressure to look a certain way—from things like social media, sure, but even from the way we compare ourselves to our partners—genuine body confidence doesn’t always come easily for everyone. That was certainly true for Jazzy, who goes by the Instagram handle @a_body_positive_jazzy. In a post that’s recently gone viral, she explained how she had been comparing her body to her husband’s so-called “born fit” one for 14 years.
Until recently, Jazzy found it hard to understand how her husband thought she was sexy because the two of them are built differently. (Though, for the record: Jazzy, you and your husband are a beautiful couple.) That’s why, a few days ago, Jazzy took to Instagram to share her journey from self-doubt to real self-love and body confidence. Along with a gorgeous photo of the two of them holding hands and walking on the beach, she captioned her post with a long and incredibly sweet statement. “Over the years this man has loved every curve, every roll, and every stretch mark on my body. I never understood why!” she writes. “How could he love something that isn’t ‘perfect’? How could a man who was ‘born fit’ love someone like me! I don’t have a flat stomach, I jiggle when I walk, hell if I run up the stairs [too] fast my body claps…”
Judging by the number of likes and comments, over 60,000 people can relate to sometimes (incorrectly!) letting their weight determine their self-worth. She ended her post with this inspiring statement: “But now I see I do have the ‘perfect’ body!! Every roll, every curve, and every stretch mark is put on me just perfect [sic] to make both of us happy!!! I love my body and I finally see why he does too!!”
